Hidden Fonts!

GIMP Version: 2.8.2
Operating System: Mac OS
OS Version: Mountain Lion
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

Hi there

Im new here and I'm loving Gimp on my MacBook Pro, but when I came to include some text in an image I found that the fonts box was empty. I tried refreshing but nothing appears. I did a bit of research but now I'm stumped.

Does anybody have any suggestions please?

In Linux, my fonts are in /home/.gimp-2.6/fonts. I am not sure where you would find them in MAC but we do have some mac people here in the forum who would know.

Did you look in Preferences>Folders to make sure that GIMP has a path to your font folder(s)?

I looked there but all I've got are two menu bars, one says temporary folder and is selected to a folder called tmp, and the other says swap folder and is selected to a folder called 2.8 ... I don't see any fonts folder.

I am not so familiar with mac as I am with pc paths.

Just create a new path to the folder on your Mac where the fonts are. Left-end button, then right-end button to browse file system and OK to save before exiting Preference menu.

Edit. You might need to restart GIMP afterwards

Cheers, I have found the fonts folder and the existing paths don't lead to the library fonts folder...

So...Now I need to create a new one, yes?
