I did change to 32 bit by Samj provision for 64-bit.
Samj - you can ask your version for 32 bit?
ps. Python in the original Onkel Hatti is probably an error?
Click python.exe and error:
The application was not properly Initiated
With version 2.8.5 Onkel Hatti is well!

It is also to be changed?

Thank you Samj as it functions with Gurm unlike the 64bit version,

samj once I uninstalled my anti-virus program your 64bit gimp painter loaded OK but would not run mathmap or Gurn

The one that has the MyPaint brush working correctly was Onkel_Hatti builds :
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-pa ... kel_Hatti/

I use his "gimp-painter-2.8_Onkel_Hatti_32.zip"

Note : i can't say for the 64bits version, but in the win32 version there was a problem (similar to Partha win32 build) with the Cairo lib on windows that made it painfully slow.
At the time it was easy to fix by taking the official Gimp 2.8.4 (or an older Partha version of the file) libcairo-2.dll and replace the one found Onkel_Hatti build to get the program/brushes working smoothly and fluently.

Rod I am using the 32bit build from Onkel_Hatti, and it works fine, the 64bit build from Onkel_Hatti did not have a 32bit folder?

Rod Senility raises it's ugly head sorry the problem with the 64 bit version is that I cannot get mathmap to run on it

What is the difference between 2.8 and 2.8.5 on the sourceforge download page.

I like the looks of this as it has so much already installed.

Probably just some patches and bug fixes. It's the latest GIT addition that is available. Most compilers like to get latest versions of BABL, GEGL, and Gimp. ;)
I downloaded Onkel's version of Gimp-2.8.5 and it works very nicely. :bigthup

I have a really cool new gimp-painter with all the plugins...yay

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4216&start=20

See post here for plugins offered by Rod...which I downloaded and with a couple minor things I had to do that are mentioned...everything is there and works..gmic, mathmap, and all the extras he shared in one easy load to the gimp-painter...I am so excited about this. The whole program is layed out really nicely...I like it a lot. Thanks everyone who makes this possible.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-pa ... kel_Hatti/

I got the gimp-painter 2.8 32bit and it works as a portable, too...perfect for me...love it!

Really happy to see you got it working. :)

It is awesome to have it put together so quickly...can' t thank you enough.
I do wish the screen did not flash when it loads...and not sure if it can be stopped from doing that.
I have never heard of

Astronomy
CamoTruck.Net
Stegonography

Were these from you Rod, or did they come with Painter?
Re:Stegonography...I found this to explain it...I just remove it..the 2 .exe(hide and unhide from plugin folder)...I would not use it.

Those were all part of the set i uploaded.

As for python support Onkels Gimp-Painter doesn't support it.If it did you would see Filters>Python-Fu>Python Console in the menus.
Parthas version of Gimp Painter does support python.

So you would want to message Onkel about Python support for his version.
I tried adding it but have had no luck with either editing the pygimp.interp file or moving folders from Parthas version to Onkels.Which has worked for me before in Gimp-2.6.11 portable. :hehe

In Onkel's link, Gimp 2.8.5 has Matt selection or whatever it names (makes me think that it's gimpainter at first).

I downladed gimpainter 2.8, 32 bit at the same page, but it keeps crashing randomly. Any solution? :(

Did you download the correct version for your system? If you have 32 bit download that version. If you have 64 bit download that one.

Oh yes, gimpainter onkel hatti 32 sourceforge page (I'm 32 bit windows user.)
At first brush runs slow, then I replace libcairo-2.dll with my gimp 2.8.4 libcairo-2.dll portable file and things speed up, on canvas rotation and mypaint brushes works fine too, but still crash randomly, even when working on small images... :(

Hmm... I have gimpainter 2.6.7, gimp 2.8.4 portable (but placed in local drives lol), and this gimpainter 2.8. This gimpainter 2.8 makes .gimp-painter-2.8 folder in my local drives, and I think it's not conflict with gimpainter 2.6.7 .gimp-2.6 folder...

It shouldn't conflict with anything as it is portable. You should contact Onkel Hatti (the compiler of this version), and get his input.Just PM him. :)
On a side note you can try and disable your antivirus software and try again.Sometimes depending on the antivirus software, it will conflict with Gimp.Example is AVG.
Clam Win works best with Gimp on Windows in my honest opinion.

Onkel's gimp-painters do have python...but in the 32bit version it will not show the console.
It IS visable in the gimp-painter 64bit version.

Yes the python modules are there but even if you edit the pygimp-interp.py file for your python path it still doesn't work. That was basically what i was saying. :)
Onkel will have to look into it.It's his build.
