Awesome some. Combine that with Photofont (see this thread: http://www.gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f ... 542#p44619) and you might have something there Chris. :)

Should have linked this one; earlier linked where Photofont, I believe, was first introduced. Rod did a fantastic job with the thread below. :)

That's really nice how the top parts are sharply beveled and the bottoms are rounded. And the little metal type pieces are a nice addition.

I tried to do that. I created a linear selection using Quick Mask and ran the curves a few times. Once to round the bottom gradient, and then a random curvy type curves on the upper half first then the bottom half after inverting the selection.

CrisF a photofont would look cool if used with this text or a font made similiar to IronCladBoltedRaised

It's a free font from somewhere (I forgot where) so I'll post the Zip

Thanks for your comment! :jumpclap
I can post a little howto. I must find a way out to create this effect easy.
When the set is ready, you can create a bitmap font, Rod. ;)

The bitfonter software looks very interesting, is there a similar software alternative?
Dont want to buy it.
Rod, if you want to convert some bitmap alphabets from me, you can found some on my blog:

Okay! :)
This one (Giraffe) wouldn't work.
http://www.mediafire.com/?5wbfdnlsk2l
Invalid or Deleted File.
Keep in mind that the bigger you make these for me the bigger they will open in Photofont (higher res)
I will see what i can do for you. :bigthup

Chromium Chris - res - 480 (300 norm)
I need to fix the order. For some reason it didn't start at 0041 (A) like it should have.
But all the characters work. :) Basically right now you would type J for C - I for B, and so forth (7 characters off).
I will have to do it the slow way and add them one at a time.May take a while. :)
Example
JNXRY = CHRIS :rofl

Image

The smaller letters (non-caps) are closer as a typed d will produce c
Image
So dijst will produce chris
