Hello from Germany! My name is Robbin and I was born and raised in Southern California. I'm a completely new user of Gimp, having used Adobe Photoshop for the last 12 years. Upon moving to Germany a little over a year ago I had lost my CD case, whereupon my treasured PS CD was nested. I thought, no problem I will just report that, as it was registered and they (being Adobe) could send me a link or mail me another CD. Not so fast they said. Tho I had provided them with my registration info (an email I'd long since ditched when I discovered gmail) they refused to provide me with the replacement. Unless of course I paid for it. Which I was not about to do.
Thoroughly frustrated I let that sit on the back burner for a little while (turned out to be about a year) because my software installed on my PC functioned superbly still.
Fast forward to last week. After having done a virus scan, my .exe file to Adobe was "eaten". Rendering me up crap creek and without a paddle!
After another furiously frustrating battle with Adobe, I decided forget this. I am going to try Gimp. I've seen wonderful creations via Youtube and Deviant Art. So that is my story, that is why I am here and that is how I came to Gimp Chat Forum. If I am to learn I want to be a part of a community of users who know their business and answer the multitude of noob questions I will have in the immediate future. So next step is to head to the tutorials section and scour away at my ignorance.
Pleased to meet you all!
Sincerely,
Robbin
