I figured I'd try and change it up a bit and post a traditional art progression, this is my first drawing/painting on a canvas so...it'll be a real learning experience.

I'm not sure what colors for the dress, I was thinking green and Red, or Pink but I don't know if I want to be so generic and normal with it, I want it interesting!
What do you think? Color suggestion welcomed!

I think an intermingling of colors in the skirt would be pretty. Blues, greens, maybe purples.

Kind of like this.

I can almost see that treble clef in gold ...

I hope we get to see the finished painting.

Nice sketches Moko. When I looked at it I saw the treble clef in gold and the dress in a contrasting blue maybe with gold trim.

mokonafan: so far it looks absolutely lovely!!! your own special touch, and that's never wrong :). i'm with o and erisian on the treble clef and after seeing O's skirt picture i think blue shades might be a good idea - usually i'd probably be all for pink, but those intermingling blues and greens would look fantastic, especially together with the gold treble clef.

Hmmssss... :P
I'm thinking on colors now...Taking the blues in mind I think I'm coming up with a plan. :P
Gold treble clef, mm maybe, I'll see how the other colors go. I'll probably start on the flower in the corner because I have never worked with canvas and if I mess something up first try it's not the main part of the image (Dancer).

Atm I'm trying to figure out where I can paint w.o problems, I don't have much table space atm and stuff so...When I have a GOOD place, I'll be painting away! :D :paint

Hey, paint it YOUR colors. You don't have to paint it what I suggested. Just my thoughts there. :cool

I also had an audience, a little girl was where I was working and she watched me for like 3 hours, she even colored a coloring page while I colored my painting and gave it to me, I have a new fan. :paint
She's a sweet girl.
