I did this tonight.
clicked on the white part of the image > did colour to alpha > inverted the selection > run alpha to glass or plastic (I used glass) > run impact around that and > 'gradient framed' it. Not sure how the colour got back into the panflute unless it was from the impact script. Looks good anyhow.

The frame is the gradient frame script. You can have it if you just download it.
