this started out with me not really thinking my knotwork heart from the gimp jewellery thread was really "right", since it consists of two interlocking ribbons and not one infinite loop. this was the closest i got to a good looking, heart shaped and infinite knot before i got tired of trying. then i had to decorate it and i tried a lot of wild and crazy things and ended up doing some warhol script operations and deleting layers from them and combining other layers - and then i gradient mapped it with (of course!) my celtic art gradient and added some tweaked layer effects. looks cool to me :)!

The knot effect is really cool!

I didn't realize until now that I could zoom in on it. I like the recursion in the background :D

I did the whole thing in gimp, from scratch :). i try all the knotwork software i can get my hands on and enjoy the results, but since i first learned to make knotwork patterns with paper and pen and learned a whole knotwork way of thinking with it, i prefer constructing my own knots, even if they don't look perfect.

sallyanne,O, rod, he4rty: thank you all :)!!

merrak: thank you. but do you really mean you've been on gc for so long and you haven't enlarged a thumbnail pic til now?
