I'm a newbie to Gimp and have no clue what I'm doing yet. I love photography and have used a few programs such as Lightroom but I want to do more and PS is just way to pricey for someone on a limited budget like me.

Any help with navigating and learning Gimp :gimp will be greatly appreciated! :) It looks like a AWESOME program to be creative and the fact its FREE :bigthup is GREAT!!! Thank you Gimp creators! I hope to learn this quickly and push out some super edits in my photography :) :pengy

Welcome here! I grew up in MI so I'm from there too! :D
GIMP has a lot of stuff in it but once you get the hang of it it's easier than pie. :P

Welcome.
What I suggest doing first is getting familiar with the base installation.
Navigate the menus, learn the basics and how to do same things You have been doing with other software. Set preferences and keyboard shortcuts. Go through some basic tutorials.

Gimp, as awesome it is, does have it quirks.
Especially when You start wowing to some of the awesome scripts and plugins. They go where the creator have scripted em to go. It could mean new menu entry, or it might be hidden somewhere where in your humble opinion it does not belong.

Michigan...I´d love to live that South right now. Just for a moment, for once.
Have not slept in week because Sun is not setting down.
Midsummer, nightless night. This day is actually bigger than Christmas Yule.
