Beth, my dove laid two more eggs, I didn't expect them to make it but both of them hatched.
Also, my wife's favorite rat, Big Al died yesterday. It really tore her up but we knew he was old. When we got him he had been abused and tortured by some kid. We gave him the best possible life and all the love he could get. He slept in Helen's arms every night for the last month. He died in his sleep, no better life could be hoped for.

Yes, the parents will be fine, and Rod, thanks. She knew it was going to happen and coincidentally (or not) two of the mystery baby boys look just like the first one she had and she's instantly fallen in love with them and they seem to feel the same about her.

That's pretty awesome you do all these things for these critters. They kinda grow on you and before you know it you're all attached. I know how that goes. Those baby doves look so fragile.

giving an animal (especially an animal that had a hard start in life) an excellent home to life out it's life is the greatest gift one can give to all animals. It's like the quote from Shindler's List...he who saves one life, savers the world entire. That goes for all life, IMO.

I won't be able to keep all of these, I don't have the room but I plan on keeping the baby white one.

gms9810: if i ever get over to the us (which doesn't really seem likely, as things are now, but you never know) i'm gonna insist on coming to see all those animals you and your wife have adopted. those baby doves look so touching, and very fragile. is it the white dove you're talking of keeping?
sorry for your wife's loss too, but a good thing for the rat he got to finish his life feeling cared for and safe.
