The problem I have only the oldest computer (XP_32bit) - designed for different experiments (and science compile QT).
Cleaning the registry entries "KNOTTER" - did not work (according to what you wrote).
I asked just out of curiosity.
Fortunately, on the other computers - I have NOT this error (for the same file!).

The new fill area has the option to create frames.

Haven't tried that feature yet. Creating seamless textures with it is in my future I see. lol

I thought the same thing few days ago. I think it shouldn't be too hard. I'll do my best :)

So you are just removing nodes then and not filling with your patterned selection. Now that I know that, maybe Mattia can have an option to best fill with a copied object (i.e., you create a pattern, then copy it to clipboard, then, you create a box or other object then fill with the selection that's copied to clipboard). Just another request among many. lol

:)

I doubt that filling from the clipboard can give satisfying results. I can make it tile the clipboard but there's no way to know how the tiles should be connected.
Maybe it's better to provide some alternative filling patterns or create different plugins that fill an area in some other way.
We mentioned fractals some time ago, they are often a nice way to fill up spaces.

You are probably right Mattia. Interconnecting the nodes strategically would, well, probably not give you a good outcome.

How about a way to stroke a knot pattern. Say, you have a circle or square vector and then you have an horizontally seamless knot pattern. Then you can just stroke using that pattern. Did a lot of manipulation in the GIMP and it's not a perfect result, but it shows what I'm talking about. Would be a good way to create a knot frame too. :)

I guess I can make a plugin that extrudes the selection inwards to make this kind of stuff.

The concentric circle stuff is kinda fun.

Unconnected circles (left) create a fake spiral illusion.
Connected circles (right) create a set of Fibonacci spirals.

It's definitely worth a plugin!

Thanks for the continued development of the program.

I'm glad you like this new plugin.
Keep suggestions coming, it's extremely easy to create this kind of scripts.

Whatever you ask, I provide ;).

It does not connect the turns of the spiral and maybe the input form is a bit mathy, if any fix is requested I'll provide it.

How about another spiral, additional to this one(don't take this one away...because I like it), that instead of being smooth would be more polygonal in shape?,...I don't know what they are called?

You can increase the "angle step" to make it more jagged.

Knotter is designed to be used just to make the designs and then use general-purpose graphics programs to get to the final result. You can just copy/paste from Knotter to GIMP and Inkscape. Alexandre from Libre Graphics World asked me to allow color drag and drops between Knotter and other programs. Interoperability is quite common in open source software as (unlike in proprietary software) developers are not interested in lock-in

Is it possible to add File>Open>Image formats directly in Knotter? This way it can be used with Shellout through Gimp (theoretically).

What do you mean? You can only open knot files with Knotter.

You need to have something selected in Knotter. It will copy the knot represented by the selected subgraph.

It works for me. I have tried with GIMP 2.6.12. Maybe newer versions don't allow pasting SVG?
