I'm still hoping for a rotational angle range option (neg to pos degrees; example, -30 to plus 40; -180 to +180 or, of course default to no rotation) as well as multiple objects to pack, but, I do asketh for too much. lol

Like the smiley filled star samj and the paisley shirt to Wallace:)

Lyle, you are indeed asking for too much :-)
Eventually, I will try to allow rotations of the shapes but only for angles that are multiples of 90°.

lol; OK David. Was going to ask for multiple objects that cluster based on color fills from the outline mask, but I won't. lololol

I had some time today to add the 'angle constraint' feature in command '-pack_sprites', and so, it affects the filters 'Pack Sprites' and 'Shapeism', where you can now allow 90° or 180° versions of your sprites to be included in the packing :)
Here are two results I've got with the updated filters.
First is with 'Pack Sprites', and an angle constraint of 90° :

And the second, with the 'Shapeism' filter, and an angle constraint of 90° :

I will think about doing this for arbitrary angles, but this is quite harder to code.

Now it's really becoming interesting David. Thanks for the update. :)

Samj, now the 'allow_angle' parameter can be also '3' for any random angle :)

Awesome. Figure you are a rocket scientist type David so you would figure it out soon enough. lol

Now for multiple objects (yup; asketh for too much; lol). Very cool indeed. Like samj's smile's again too. Hope samj saw my link to that flickr site too. lol

Who doesn't like smileys? :)

Hey David; getting this error when I use the attached object. :)

*** Error in ./gimp_pack_sprites/*if/../pack_sprites/*repeat/*local/*repeat/ *** Command '-object3d': Invalid 3d object [3], specified in argument '[-3],0,0,0,1,2,0,0' (CImg3d (4,4) has incomplete opacity data for primitive 1).

Right Lyle, I've just fixed the bug. Thanks for reporting.

PS : Well, seems to be not fixed. Still investigating...

Worked fine with my pentunia though. Maybe the object can't have multiple objects inside as words would have or the problem's with using a rectangular object as opposed to one that is more square (have to do some yard work; don't have much time to trouble-shoot. lol). :)

One other observation. If I choose the no rotation option (0 deg) for the petunia, it crashes too. :)

Ha yes Lyle, that's it, an object cannot have disconnected opaque shapes in it, otherwise it cannot work.

That's cool David; not sure why 0 deg crashes w/ my petunia though. :)
