I'm back

It's been a long time since I last came to this place, but I found another forum thats geared towards electronics that has me itching to get back into the forum groove, and this place has always been a friendly and great place to read and learn.

I have one question.
What all is new?
I see a new header and it looks great! I'm assuming someone on here did it. who? (sorry if this is somewhere in a sticky or something just got on and am making this post)
I also noticed a new mod. Starts with an "O" but can't remember the rest of it sorry :oops:

Haven't even installed GIMP yet, anything new and exciting with that? Got a 64bit laptop with an i7 now so shouldn't have anymore problems rendering out fractals or images in GIMP so yay!

So how is everyone?

ps. Hope I'm at least remembered by a few around here lol I know I remember you guys and gals

Good to see you too Rod, is I don't remember his name, but is someone still doing an early GIMP release thing where they are compiling early versions or something like that? Sorry the memories of this place are old and sort of fuzzy at this point.

I remember you, Willy. Welcome back. What I think is new and interesting are the newest versions of Gimp and G'MiC, and a lot of fantastic tutorials by our amazing GC members.

Oh, and you maybe have figured it out by now, but there are about 40 new GC headers the Tux has put in rotation. They are all fantastic, and made by different GC members.

I'm pretty sure I was never a mod lol, but I did do a tut index and I praise you for keeping that up! MAN it was a lot of work to do originally

Yep, finished Junior year in High School and now on summer break again!

Good to see you're still running this place Tux, the new GIMP Chat logo switcher looks great! Only thing is I would love to know who made the ones that are up there.

It was a team effort on the banners, Willy. You can scan though this thread to see who did which banners.

A's and B's lol good enough for me...Got a 31 on the ACT (standarized test in Michigan) which is near the 95th percentile don't remember the exact number sorry... don't mean to brag though....

That is a good test to do well on, it's a help to get into university.

Looking at two Engineering Colleges around Michigan though... Lawrence Tech and Michigan Tech

HI Willy welcome back to GC. Cant wait to see what you can do. I'm sure you will get the most out of anything new in GIMP and G'MIC, and partha will be hanging round somewhere, although I am hoping he has a new release of a mac version of 2.8.6 around the corner for me to play with

Hey Willy! So good to see you back. Congrats on those good grades. Looks like you've done some serious work in school. Get Gimp installed. There's been a lot happening in here since you've been gone. Take a look around. Looking forward to seeing more of your Gimp work.
