O:
I'm really not trying to confuse you. I am, however, trying to make sense of the foreground color order of this reflex script. My comments might appear disconnected, but I can assure you its me on a learning curve.
This is what I know:
- Having the foreground color set to a dark color before running Reflex results in a nice shiny image.
- Setting midtone foreground colors, like medium to light grey, or pink, mauve, or pastel-like colors, you get a matte finish, sort of soft blurred.
- Having foreground set to any bright colors, most of all, white, will result in an Edge layer with a flat color and no bumped/displaced effect.
This is what I don't know:
How to globally set the foreground color to black before the script starts (since it seems to be crucial to the effect of the Edge layer). I've tried inserting a "gimp-context-set-foreground" procedure between various layer procedures without much success. I even placed it before the actual start of the script and it ran with a blurred (not shiny) appearance.
What I am trying to figure out:
How to create a subroutine that sets foreground/background to default, as if you were just doing it on your own, before the script runs. Just using the procedure alone isn't working.
