Rod,
I'd PM David, but I don't know who he is or what his screenname is.
Ronounours,
Thanks for the compliment, but I'm hardly an expert. In fact, I'm a newbie! I've only been using Gimp and G'mic for a couple of weeks.
David is Ronounours

(and vice versa)
About making filters i may show you a simple trick
1) change Gmic output to "new layer" (NOT new active layer)
2) run the sequence you wish become a filter
3) copy the layer names
now if your filter is sequential (successive Gmic filters applied to the same layer) and don't require tuning, is ready, i mean that code is ready to run as "custom code", then you may fav it so remain available without need to be paste each time
Example if the layer name is
{GB- drama}{
Graphic_Boost}{gimp_boost1}{gimp_boost1}
{1.9802}{1.36364}{0.727273}{16.8317}{1}{0.254545}{0.842178}{5.36364}{0}{2}{0.963636}{0}{0.536364}{0.818182}{1.54545}
the "custom code" is -graphic_boost 1.9802 , 1.36364, 0.727273 ...and so on ( Filter name + what inside "{}" separated by comma).
Wellthis is the most simple case but should give a idea, ...and also allow to recover setting used
(again if you applied gmic with "new layers" output option...if not you should use a terminal to recover the values)
