It's magical fire though, it's well known to burn cold ...! And yeah, floating books must be a thing in a magic book shop.

I like the slight surface design of the material here, makes it would appear that a more seasoned picture/drawing style. She looks very cranky, similar to she's going to go off on an epic tirade about something!

I experimented with a 'looser' style here, in order to show detail with fewer brush strokes. Glad you like it! I bet she's cranky because she may have to carry those huge books later ...

I changed lightness to get the sky bluer and a little saturation, then Diego's D-with-GEGL

No worries, everyone has different amounts of time.

That's a nice result - the twisting branches remind me of
the genetic tree of life as well! Since most of the image is a little dithered, it makes the doves and the straight lines of the ground under the tree extra 'sharp', which an interesting effect.
